Meet

Mikayla Morelli

Physiotherapist

Mikayla is a licensed physiotherapist with l’Ordre professionel de la Physiothérapie du Québec (OPPQ). She is also a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA). Mikayla completed her Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Sciences followed by her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy at McGill University. She has interests in treating orthopaedic as well as pelvic floor dysfunctions.

Mikayla discovered her interest for orthopaedics while working with various sports teams during and post university (varsity hockey and track & field teams, Special Olympics). She is drawn to helping people return to their preferred level of functioning. She uses an evidence based approach in manual therapy and exercise prescription to provide a tailored treatment to guide her patients to their goals. Mikayla enjoys working with all patients ranging from children to adults and continues to pursue continuing education courses in manual therapy and functional exercise to further her skills in the field.

Mikayla discovered her passion for pelvic health through clinical experiences she had throughout her studies. Mikayla treats patients with a variety of pelvic health conditions including, incontinence (urinary & fecal), pelvic pain (i.e. endometriosis, prostatitis, dyspareunia, vaginismus), pregnancy & the postpartum period. She treats men, women, paediatrics & the transgender population. Because of the taboo that society places on pelvic health issues, Mikayla feels privileged to work with this clientele as they navigate through their pelvic health conditions.

Mikayla believes in looking at injuries and pain from the whole body perspective. Change is a process and the body is an investment. Mikayla looks forward to working with you during your healing journey!

Meet

Emilia Morelli

Registered Dietitian

Emilia is a registered dietitian with l’Ordre des diététistes-nutritionnistes du Québec (ODNQ).  Emilia completed her Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences, majoring in Dietetics at McGill University. She has interests in pediatric and adult nutrition, focusing mainly in women’s health and gastrointestinal disorders.

Since completing her degree, Emilia has been working with the paediatric population, including infants all the way to teenagers. She has worked with families for introduction of solids, picky eaters, poor growth / weight gain, and ADHD.

Through her work in paediatrics, Emilia learned about the importance and the role of nutrition during pre-conception and the peri-natal period. This time is crucial and is extremely influential in the health and outcomes of the off-spring, which sparked an interest in fertility and pregnancy nutrition. Emilia has completed continuing education courses on nutrition for fertility and pregnancy, as well as for other women’s health conditions including PCOS, endometriosis and menopause.

Emilia’s interest in gastrointestinal disorders stems from her own diagnosis of celiac disease when she was 14 years old. She has first hand experience dealing with a diagnosis with significant implications on diet and lifestyle, as well as with gluten-free eating. She understands the impact of gastrointestinal disorders (including IBS, Crohn’s disease, etc.) on quality of life and has completed continuing education courses relating to these matters.

Emilia is passionate for all things food-related. She loves to cook and try new foods, and given her dietary restriction, is always looking to replicate and find gluten-free alternatives. She enjoys to share her knowledge and skills on cooking with others who need some inspiration.

Emilia’s approach is to meet you where you currently are and help take you to your end goal. She looks forward to working with you in this transformative journey!
